retold gold

  • The Betsey Trotswood 56 Farringdon Road London, England, EC1R 3BL United Kingdom (map)

Comedians perform their favourite bits, long since departed from their repertoires.

Come and share in the nostalgia as comics scour their memories for jokes they used to love to tell. Out-of-date topical references, raw early material, or just classics which happened to be replaced by newer bits.

Featuring:

ALICE FRASER

Alice is a writer for and occasionally appears on BBC Radio 4’s The News Quiz. She hosts a weekly podcast called The Gargle, which is a spinoff of cult satirical podcast The Bugle. In 2020, she wrote and performed a Daily Satirical News Podcast Set in an Alternate Dimension called The Last Post, which after 366 days of relentless output has now in 2021 calmed down to a much more manageable one show a month, though it does leave loyal audiences hanging about what’s happening to the Octopus People in the other dimension.

MARIA SHEHATA

Maria Shehata is a multi award-winning Egyptian-American comedian based in London. Maria has appeared on Dave Channel’s ‘The Comedy Guide To Life’, as well as appearances on Showtime, Comedy Central, BBC, and Comic Relief's viral Modern Dating Horror Stories.

“I love Maria Shehata. She's funny on and off stage and always has original material... I think she is a truly unique comedian and I miss watching her work.” - Bill Burr

RED RICHARDSON

Red Richardson is a critically acclaimed stand up comedian, writer, actor and podcaster and is now recognised as one of the most exciting new comics in The UK.

He has twice appeared on The Stand Up Sketch Show on ITV2, is a regular joke writer for ‘8 out of Ten Cats’, ‘8 out of Ten Cats does Countdown’ and ‘Live at The Comedy Store’ on Comedy Central and has written on Mock The Week.

“Red will find his audience and in turn they will become slavishly devoted” **** – Chortle

“Red Richardson is delightfully sardonic” **** Ed Fest Mag

CHRIS TIMONEY
